Matthew Pennycook was first elected as the Member of Parliament for the Greenwich and Woolwich constituency in the General Election of May 7th 2015. And he was re-elected with very large increase in his majority on the 8th June 2017 General Election. He had been selected as Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate in November 2013 and he was a Councillor for Greenwich West ward, where he lives with his partner Joanna. He is also a trustee of Greenwich Housing Rights, and has spent the last ten years working in a number of roles in a range of charitable and voluntary sector organisations, shaping the national debate on the issues that matter to the people that live in our constituency: a living wage, affordable childcare, workplace rights and better housing.
