About

Greenwich and Woolwich Labour Party is an active and vibrant organization. The constituency covers a diverse area, stretching from West Greenwich to Plumstead in the east.

Matthew Pennycook is the MP for Greenwich and Woolwich and was elected at the General Election in May 2015 after Nick Raynsford, our MP for many years, retired.  In the London Assembly, your representative is Len Duvall AM.

The area comprises seven wards in total, all of which elect three councillors each to the Royal Borough of Greenwich. See our Branches and Councillors page for information on each of those wards and the Labour councillors that represent them.

Each ward acts as a branch of the constituency party (CLP). Members elect officers for their branch, as well as for the CLP. Contacts for key officers are also listed on this site.

Monthly meetings are held at branch and constituency level. The days and times of ward meetings vary. Check the relevant page of this site for days, times and locations. The CLP holds its General Conference in every third week of the month. This is attended by both elected officers and representatives of each branch. Keynote speakers are often present at CLP and branch meetings to host lively discussions on issues local, national and international. Those discussions are open to all members to attend.

There are many other ways for you to get involved also: the CLP holds regular canvassing sessions, activities and social events across the constituency. Look out for updates to this site for details of events near you.
