JANET GILLMAN

Janet is a life-long Charlton resident and has been a councillor here since 1994. As a governor of Cherry Orchard School and a board member of Charlton Triangle Homes, she welcomes the improvements they make to local families’ lives.

Janet sits on Charlton Athletic’s Residents’ Liaison Group, ensuring activities at the ground do not adversely affect its neighbours. She works closely with Charlton’s Safer Neighbourhood Team, ensuring the police and council work together against crime, anti-social behaviour and graffiti.

Janet chairs the council’s scrutiny panel for healthier communities and older people, which monitors the delivery of health services. She is the council’s representative on Greenwich Pensioners’ Forum, so gets to know at first hand the needs of older people. She is a Co-op party member and is co-chair of the council’s Fairtrade Steering Group.
