New Buildings for Thomas Tallis school
Thomas Tallis SchoolNew buildings for Thomas Tallis school have got the go-ahead and building work is due to start later this year. The new school buildings will be slightly north of the current ones on Kidbrooke Park Road and will have much better sports, technology and arts facilities. They were approved by the council’s planning board in October. The playing fields will be moved to the south of Blackheath Park, but with floodlighting there   only allowed until 8pm, not 9pm as originally planned, to avoid disturbing neighbours.A new school on the Greenwich Peninsula, meant for John Roan, is also proposed as part of the Labour council’s £180 million ’Building Schools for the Future’ programme. Consent was given last August.
