CHRIS ROBERTS
Chris is Leader of Greenwich Council. He was first elected to Greenwich Council in 1994, and became Leader in May 2000.
Chris has helped lead the extensive physical, social and economic regeneration of the borough, in particular tackling long-term unemployment and improving educational standards. He played a pivotal
role in London's successful bid for the 2012 Olympics.
Chris has overseen the development of the Council's innovative recycling scheme and is working closely with English Partnerships over the redevelopment of the GDH site which will provide a new
library, leisure centre, and primary health care facility for East Greenwich.
Chris chairs the Safer Greenwich Partnership, which is managing the roll out of neighbourhood police teams across the borough.
Chris is a member of the GMB Union and the Co-operative Party.
