Crossrail Station for Woolwich

Throughout the past year Nick Raynsford MP and Greenwich Labour Councillors have been heavily engaged in the Crossrail Group campaign to secure a Crossrail station at Woolwich. Crossrail is the new rail link planned to speed up travel across London from East to West.   It will hugely improve access to and from Woolwich, for example Canary Wharf would be just 7 minutes away.  This will bring massive economic benefits to Woolwich. Our campaign won widespread support from the local community and businesses across South and East London. It impressed the Parliamentary Committee considering the Crossrail scheme which has recommended the inclusion of a station at Woolwich, and detailed work is now being undertaken to ensure the station can be achieved in a cost-effective way.
