DON AUSTEN
Don has represented Glyndon ward on Greenwich council for the past twelve years. Don has a background in the trade union movement as a shop steward, health and safety rep and a lay
delegate.
For the past three years he has chaired reviews of the council’s culture and leisure services and services for older people. Don helped secure extra funding for more occupational therapists in
Greenwich to work with those with disabilities and reduce the waiting list for the service. Don is a vice-chair of the licensing committee and sits on the planning committee for the Woolwich and
Thamesmead area.
Don has played a major role in the regeneration of Glyndon area, and the borough as a whole. If re-elected, Don will continue to serve the interests of the Glyndon area and sees improving community
safety as a top priority.
